• You speak and write Dutch well. Basic knowledge of English and/or German is a bonus
• You are available on weekends and during holidays

Hotelmanager

We are looking for a hotel manager for Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee with a strategic focus on delivering the ultimate guest experience, supporting colleagues, and achieving commercial success.

Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee in West Terschelling is one of the most beautiful hotels on the Wadden Islands. Every day, we do everything we can to ensure our guests have a pleasant and relaxing stay, always striving to offer a unique and surprising level of hospitality. This is exactly what we expect from the driven hotel manager we are seeking.

A role full of challenges

As our new hotel manager, you will be the face of Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee and responsible for a profitable operation. You will keep all operational processes in sharp focus and are used to thinking strategically, planning ahead, and initiating new projects. You also know how to get the best out of every employee.

Depending on the season, your department will have around 35 staff members. You will enthusiastically lead the team leaders responsible for housekeeping, food & beverage, kitchen, reception, and administration. You think in terms of opportunities and continuously look for ways to elevate the quality of our hospitality and further grow the success of our hotel. Once you have proven yourself, there is the potential to advance to the position of general manager.

What we expect from you

A career as a hotel manager at Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee requires not only knowledge, insight, and experience, but also a flexible and proactive attitude and a natural leadership mindset. Specifically, we expect that you:

• Have HBO/WO (higher professional or university) level of thinking and working
• Have at least 3 to 5 years of management experience and are familiar with the operational side of hospitality
• Possess the skills to build and develop teams
• Have an entrepreneurial, commercial, and results-oriented mindset
• Understand the needs of our guests and actively respond to them
• Live on Terschelling or are willing to relocate to the island
