How can I make a reservation?
You can easily make a reservation through our website hotelpaal8.nl or by sending an email to receptie@hotelpaal8.nl.

I want to stay with a group (larger party). Will I receive a special rate?
If you wish to stay with us with a larger party, please contact us by email at receptie@hotelpaal8.nl for a suitable offer.

Is it more advantageous if I book through your own website, instead of booking.com or another provider?
Yes, we always offer the best rates on our own website.

When will I receive confirmation of my reservation?
When you make a reservation by phone or through our website, you will receive confirmation by email within 24 hours.

What payment methods can I use?
You can pay with us by debit card, cash or credit card.

How can I pay?
If you make a reservation directly with us, we ask for a (down) payment or credit card details as a guarantee for the reservation. If you book through www.hotelpaal8.nl, you can pay for the reservation online immediately.

Check-in and Check-out

What time can I check in?
Your room is available from 3:00 PM. Are you arriving at the hotel earlier? This is no problem. You can leave your luggage with us and enjoy the island. If your room is ready earlier, you can of course already use the room.

What time do I need to check out?
You can check out until 10:30 AM. Upon request, subject to availability, a late check-out is possible; the cost is €35 per room or suite.

Are there special rooms for people with disabilities?
Yes, our hotel has 1 spacious suite with adaptations for guests with disabilities.

Are all rooms located on the sea side?
No, not all rooms are on the sea side. If you wish to have a specific room type on the sea side, the surcharge is €12.50 per night.

Is there a safe in the room?
Yes, every room has a safe that you can secure with a personal access code.

What is the hotel's smoking policy?
Smoking is not allowed in the hotel and in all rooms. Smoking is only permitted at the entrance of the restaurant and reception.

Breakfast
The breakfast buffet is from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. You can indicate which time slot you prefer when checking in. The first option is to come in between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. The second is from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM.

Are dogs allowed in the restaurant?
Yes, dogs are allowed in the restaurant. The dog must be kept on a leash.

Roomservice
It is also possible to order room service to your room. The cost for this is €8.50. For lunch and dinner you can choose from the restaurant menu. For room service breakfast, you can fill out a form at the reception.

I have specific dietary requirements for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner?
If you have specific dietary requirements (e.g. gluten-free, diabetes, etc.), we would like to hear about this before arrival via receptie@hotelpaal8.nl, so we can take this into account.

Is there internet available?
Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the entire hotel.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, a maximum of 1 dog per room is allowed. This must be communicated in advance. The surcharge is €17.50 extra per night.

Until what time is the hotel accessible in the evening?
The hotel is accessible 24 hours a day. When the reception is closed, you can enter through the night entrance with your room key.

Can I rent a bicycle at the hotel?
Enjoy cycling across the island on bicycles from bike rental company Tijs Knop; this is the best way to explore the island. We have men's and women's bicycles ready for you at the hotel. Electric bicycles, tandems, dog carts, and child seats must be reserved in advance, and we will arrange to have them ready for you at the hotel.

Can I book excursions at the hotel?
Many fun and sporting activities can be reserved through the reception. There is also an information folder at the reception with the range of all activities and excursions available during the period of your stay with us.

Parking & Transportation

Transportation from the port to the Hotel
If you don't have a car or bicycle with you, you can take the bus from the port to the hotel free of charge on the day of arrival and departure. For the bus to Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee, take line 2. During the winter period, there is no bus service on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. For all information, visit https://www.bus-terschelling.nl/lijn2
It is also possible to rent a bicycle at the port from bike rental company Tijs Knop; they will then transport your luggage to the hotel free of charge. You can book online at www.tijsknop.nl

Can I also take a taxi to the hotel?
If you would like to come to Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee by taxi, this is of course possible. Upon arrival of the ferry, several taxis are available at the port area.

Can I park my car (for free) near the hotel?
There is a public parking area 150 meters from the hotel where you can park your car.

What is the Guest App?
The Guest App is a convenient application that gives you all hotel information and services directly on your phone during your stay at Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee. From restaurant reservations and wellness bookings to your room key and current hotel announcements.

How can I download the Guest App?
You can easily download the Guest App by scanning the QR code you receive at check-in or find in your room. Then you install the app and log in with your reservation details.

What can I do with the Guest App?
With the Guest App you can:

· View the restaurant menu and reserve a table
· View wellness information and book treatments

Is the Guest App free?
Yes, the Guest App is completely free to download and use during your stay.

Do I need to log in to the app?
Yes, you simply log in with your reservation details that you receive at check-in. This gives you immediate access to all functions of the app.

How does the digital room key work?
If your hotel room is equipped with a digital lock, you can activate it via the app. Open the app, go to the room key and hold your phone against the lock to open the door.

Can I also use the app without an internet connection?
Most functions of the Guest App require an internet connection. It is therefore convenient to use the free WiFi network in the hotel.
