1. Midlandspolder and Dunes Route

Highlights: Terschelling’s polders, beaches, and the goat park
This route takes you through the historic polders of Midsland, past ancient dunes and vast beaches. Along the way, you’ll pass the “Geitenpark” (Goat Park), a reminder of the time when many islanders kept goats for milk and meat.
2. To West-Terschelling

Highlights: Dunes, forests, and polder landscapes
Starting from Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee, this enjoyable walking route leads you towards West-Terschelling. Wander through the island’s dunes and polders and treat yourself to a delicious Pondkoek (a local cake) at one of the local bakeries along the way.

A short hike over the Green Beach near West-Terschelling. This route offers stunning views over the sea and the dunes. Perfect for a relaxing coastal walk.
4. The Rouwpad

Highlights: Formerum Forest and polders
Starting from Midsland, this trail takes you through the Formerum Forest and the scenic polders of Terschelling. Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, accompanied by the songs of birds and other island wildlife.
5. The Ranger’s Route

Highlights: Landerum Heath, Waterplak, birdwatching
This route begins in Midsland Noord, close to Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee. Before long, you’ll find yourself surrounded by Terschelling’s incredible flora and fauna, from wet valleys to dry dunes and heathlands.
